A Little About Me

When I'm not in front of a keyboard, I'm a husband, a dad, and full-time staff to three very spoiled dogs. I grew up in a tiny farming town in Washington State, I'm 40 years old, and I've spent over 12 years building software.
I consider myself lucky to have found my thing. I genuinely love what I do — there's never a shortage of new problems to solve or new things to learn.
I was the kid who would dismantle his toys to see how they worked, and then try to put them back together again. That curiosity never left, and it's still what drives me to keep learning and building.
Today I live in Raleigh, North Carolina with my wife, son, and three dogs. You'll usually find me grilling and smoking meats, playing games with my son, or watching gloriously bad horror movies with my wife while a pile of pups snores nearby.

What I'm Like to Work With
- I love sharing what I know — I've built internal knowledge bases, taught bootcamp classes, and will happily hijack a whiteboard.
- I stay calm when things break, and get genuinely curious when they get weird.
- I care about the craft: real tests, clean architecture, and standards that make life easier for the whole team.
- I'm always learning — the same kid who took his toys apart now does it with new tech.
- I lead with empathy first... and just enough sarcasm to keep retros interesting.
I hope everyone can find the same love and passion in their lives that I've found in software development.
